Photos
Digital photos: Photos may be submitted in jpg format. Make sure that photos are at least 300 d.p.i. (dots per inch) at a minimum size of 3 inches by 4 inches. When using a digital camera, select the highest resolution available to ensure that your photos will contain enough data for print publication.
You do NOT need to edit your photos for contrast or color. If you need to re-save a jpg photo, be sure to select "Save as" instead of "Save" so that the file is not re-compressed, which will cause data-loss.
To submit digital photos, attach your picture to an e-mail message addressed to herald@luc.adventist.org. Please do not send e-mails with a cumulative size greater than five megabytes (MB). If your images are too large to e-mail or if you would prefer to use FTP, please contact the Lake Union Herald office at (269) 473-8242 for information on how to submit a file through our FTP site.
If photo prints are mailed, it is important to attach a photo ID form to each picture, so it can be correctly matched up with the hard copy of your story when it arrives at the Herald office. Number the photos and list their numbered captions at the end of your article. Please do not send computer print-outs of digital pictures. Instead, please send us the original image in digital format.
